OUR STORY

Make it easier to take control

In May 2018, the GDPR was introduced to improve the protection of users’ personal data and therefore their privacy. Companies then drafted new privacy policies, so that the user is very strongly pressured to accept them to continue using their services. In this way, the GDPR has had a partially counteracting effect.

In autumn 2018, Anders Fridlund realised that users lacked information about their new rights and did not know what to do to protect their personal data. The idea of a technical solution was born to make it easier for citizens to take control of their data.

From idea to reality

Anders merged with Mattias Fernström and Patrik Persson. They developed services like PersonDataKollen and Pinteg Privacy Assistant to help users understand how their personal data was being processed and give them the keys to protect it.

Help businesses to follow the law

But they soon realised that there were no technical solutions to help companies implement the GDPR. This led to the idea of a solution to help companies handle their customers’ personal data. In 2020, the expertise was further strengthened with Per Morau. From then on, the process was underway and services could be developed to meet current needs and anticipate future ones.

Happening nowadays

The company moved to Ideon’s incubator in Lund in 2020. This creative environment is the perfect place to grow a start-up. In early 2021, PersonDataKollen and Pinteg Privacy Assistant were launched. Now Pinteg is working on the solution for companies, which will be released during 2022.

Government project

From 2022, Pinteg is part of the largest research project conducted by the Swedish government on personal data.
